Amelia turns at the sound of the voice. It's someone she knows.
Amelia:

Amelia's friend, Hattie Ledford, enters the scene. The two are delighted to see each other.
Hattie:
"So good to see you here!"

Hattie, mischievously:
"So, did you sneak out?"
Amelia, laughing it off:
"Haha, no. My parents wanted me to get out."

Amelia and Hattie lean back against the wall. Amelia is exasperated
Amelia:
"Though to be honest, they'd probably tell me to walk across half of Manhattan if it meant finding a high-profile husband."
Hattie, commiserating:
"It must be so hard to have social climbers for parents."
