Emily runs up the stairs while Mr. Glover waves after her.
Emily: "Thanks for being jake with this, Mr. Glover!"
Arnold Glover: "Good luck, Emily."

Panel 2.
Mr. Trent comes down the hall, calling for Emily who has just left. Mr. Glover is all smiles.
Mr. Trent: "Emily, your mother--oh, nevermind."
Arnold Glover: "Don't mind her, Mr. Trent. The youth are always coming and going."

Panel 3.
Arnold Glover: "May I trouble you to use your telephone? I forgot about something at the office."

Panel 4.
Mr. Trent gestures happily to the telephone in the back of the hall.
Mr. Trent: "Of course, it's down the hall."
Arnold Glover: "Thank you."

Panel 5.
Arnold Glover picks up the phone, looking grim in contrast to his cheerful demeanor before. Mr. Trent can be heard talking off in the background.
Mr. Trent, off panel: "No, Ethel, I didn't ask her!"
